The photos in this article were taken in November last year, when 15 BVA students and their teachers were guests in Kiryat Ono.
Just a year later, directly after the autumn holidays, the visit of the Israeli group was to take place in Dormagen. Unfortunately our school, Ben Zvi High School, had to cancel the visit because of the war in Israel.
The attack by the Hama terrorists from Gaza has put the whole country in a state of shock.
We (students and teachers) have been in daily contact with our friends in Kiryat Ono since 07.10. and had to hear that among the victims of the massacre at a festival near Gaza are some former students of the high school, among them the sister of a student on the current exchange. We send the Ben Zvi High School community our sincere condolences.
We all hope that the war will end soon and that we will be able to continue the exchanges between our schools.
Wir stehen an der Seite unserer Partnerschule in Israel
Diese Fotos entstanden im November letzten Jahres, als 15 BVA-Schülerinnen und -Schüler mit ihren Lehrern zu Gast waren in Kiryat Ono.
Ein knappes Jahr danach sollte direkt nach den Herbstferien der Besuch der israelischen Gruppe in Dormagen stattfinden. Leider musste unsere Partnerschule, die Ben Zvi High School, den Besuch absagen, denn in Israel herrscht Krieg. Der Angriff der Hama-Terroristen aus Gaza hat das ganze Land in einen Schockzustand versetzt. Wir (SchülerInnen und LehrerInnen) sind seit dem 07.10. täglich in Kontakt mit unseren Freunden in Kiryat Ono und mussten erfahren, dass zu den Opfern des Massakers bei einem Festival in der Nähe von Gaza auch einige ehemalige SchülerInnen der High School sind, darunter die Schwester einer Schülerin des aktuellen Austauschs. Der ganzen Schulgemeinschaft der Ben Zvi High School gilt unser aufrichtiges Beileid.
Wir hoffen alle, dass der Krieg schon bald beendet wird und wir die Austauschbegegnungen unserer Schulen fortsetzen können.
